Cliche Verre

(Upside down)
During the Cliche Verre lesson I learned how to make a positive of a photo. We also learned that photographers used to blacken a piece of glass over a candle and etch an image into it, rather than paint one like we did. I also learned that you have to be careful while painting because painting too dark will keep the parts of the paper from being exposed, and too much light will make the parts that are exposed too dark. I enjoyed the assignment, mostly because I enjoy painting. I found the process to be interesting and enjoyable.

Pinhole Photography

5 things I learned about pinhole photography is that it requires a lot of patients, the right amount of light, the right size object to use as a camera, the right amount of exposure based on the lighting, and a good and consistent location. I really enjoyed the assignment, it was a nice change to get outside of the classroom for once and I really learned a lot about the way that cameras work, and the way that pictures used to be developed in the dark room.

What Makes a Good Photo

A good photo captures things that people normal overlook, or never have the patients to see. In this photo, a Bird of Paradise is preforming its mating ritual, something that is rarely seen, let alone photographed, by humans. Without photography, these images would be lost to humans.

"For Your Portfolio"

The kind of thing that I am interested in photographing would be mainly nature, and animals. There are so many different things that happen in nature every day that people never see because they don't see outside what are printed in magazines like National Geographic.

Eddie Adams

Eddie Adams was a Pulitzer prize-winning photographer and photojournalist. He is famous for his award winning photos of combat in the thirteen wars that he covered throughout his career.

Adams was famous for documenting the brutalities of war. This photo was taken before the fall of Saigon and was taken moments before the man in the middle was executed for supposedly being a North Vietnamese spy.
